Accounts in Collections & Liens
All unpaid Animal Service citations are forwarded to Miami-Dade County's Finance Department for collections. Any account in Collections is not longer handled by Animal Services.
Once an account is referred to Credit and Collections, it is extremely important that the pet owner responds. This is the final opportunity to pay the debt before further action is taken by the County. Accounts in Collection may result in increases to the outstanding balance for interest, court costs, attorney fees, etc.
The Finance Department's Credit and Collection Section accepts money order or cashier's check, over the phone by check, debit card, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover Card. Payments can be made by phone or in person at:
Credit and Collection Section
140 W. Flagler, Suite 105
Miami, Fl 33130
Phone: 305-375-5200
If you have any questions regarding a collection letter or lien, please contact: Miami-Dade County's Finance Department at 305-375-5200. Check, money order or cashier's check must be made payable to Board of County Commissioners.
Animal Services accepts payments on behalf of the Finance Department's Credit and Collection Section. However, we only accept Visa, Mastercard, and cash.
