Pet Dealer License

Pet dealer licenses are issued by Miami-Dade Animal Services. Pet dealer licenss vary in cost from $100 to $1,000, depending on the number of animals sold annually.
Interested parties should contact 3-1-1 to request a License Application Packet. Upon receipt of your request an Animal Services Investigator will contact you to schedule an informative meeting detailing the application process. Meetings are held Tuesday thru Friday from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Meetings are held in the annex at Animal Services.
Animal Services accepts payments by cash, check, or credit card (not American Express). Pet Dealer Licenses must be renewed annually.
Pet shop owners must present evidence that their business is legal, including corporate documents, federal identification number from the IRS, Certificate of Occupancy (Miami-Dade County and/or Municipality) and a Business Tax Receipt (Miami-Dade County and/or the municipality).
If you sell pets, they must be microchipped and registered to the new owner and must be sold with an original official certificate of veterinary inspection (Sec. 5-10).
