Community Affairs

The Community Affairs Unit coordinates special events and provides information to the public and the media. The Unit has developed several programs to make a difference in the community.

Two of the programs are "Fingerprinting for Kid's Safety" and "Jail is Hell", where correctional staff and inmates share their experiences in an attempt to discourage children from a life of drugs, alcohol and guns.

Additionally the Unit promotes employee participation programs to booster employee morale. Some of the major employee morale boosters planned annually are the Employee Appreciation Day Picnic, Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month and the Women's History Month Celebrations.
