The Miami-Dade County Code requires a primary sign that clearly and legibly states:

• Each kind of motor vehicle fuel available for sale at the particular gas station, in full or abbreviated form.
• The minimum retail price per gallon to the nearest one-tenth (0.1) of a cent, inclusive of all taxes, for each kind of motor vehicle fuel available for sale at the particular gas station;
• Any conditions of sale to obtain the motor vehicle fuel for the price displayed on the sign, e.g., "cash" price, "credit card" price, "self-service" price, "full-service" price, etc.
• The price sign must be displayed on the premises so that the sign is clearly visible and legible to drivers of approaching motor vehicles on at least one (1) street, avenue, road, or highway abutting one (1) of the entrances to the gas station.

Motorboat fueling establishments are required to post signs on pumps stating price per gallon in letters and numerals at least 6 in. in height and ¾ in. in width. Violations of the Gasoline Price Sign Ordinance (8A-4) may result in a fine of up to $200. Where there is evidence of repeat violations the fine can doubled.

The sign requirements are subject to municipal zoning ordinances and regulations. This ordinance is enforced in all areas of Miami-Dade County.
