Who Must Apply
Any person(s) or corporation that provides two (2) or more services pertaining to remetering to the owner of a multiple unit property who purchases water service from the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department. Services include, but are not limited to, submeter installation, submeter reading, billing and record keeping.
When to Renew
Monday through Friday (except holidays) 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Initial applicants must apply in person.
What to Bring
- Completed application
- Copy of current Occupational License
- Copy of certificate of competency as registered/certified plumber from Miami-Dade County or the State of Florida, as applicable
- Proof of comprehensive general liability insurance which shall have a minimum of $300,000 per occurrence combined single limit for bodily injury and property damage liability
- Specifications, as approved by AWWA Standards, of submeters and testing equipment to be used
- Proof of workers’ compensation insurance or state certificate of exemption
- List of properties within Miami-Dade County that remetering services are provided

Cash will not be accepted. Fees can be paid by check, money order or cashiers check made payable to the "Board of County Commissioners". If renewing in person, the renewal fee can be paid by credit card (MasterCard or Visa).
Incomplete Applications
If the application process is not completed within sixty (60) days from the date that the application was filed with the Consumer Services Department, the application will be considered abandoned and closed and a new application and fee will be required.
Business Changes
Any change in ownership, address, telephone number, contact person or other information recorded on the registration application shall be reported to the Consumer Services Department in writing within ten (10) days of the change.
