Permits

Environmental Resources Management handles various environmental permit applications and other forms that may be required prior to construction or modification of a building structure or property in Miami-Dade County. These applications for one-time permits cover activities such as tree removal or the construction of a dock or pier.

Another type, operating permits, is required by certain businesses or industries to renew periodically. For example, this includes facilities such as a small mechanical repair shop and a sewage treatment plant.

State or local laws may require other forms or affidavits prior to commencing a project. Also, certain applications may need to go through the core Plan Review process.

The Permit Applications table lists the different types of permits; explanations for each permit; the corresponding permit applications; and FAQs for each permit, such as how to process the permit, any associated costs and contact information.

This table is intended only as a guide and to assist in identifying which environmental permits may be necessary for a given project or property. There may be instances when a permit is required and it is not listed here. Furthermore, there may be times when activities require multiple permits or additional permits from the state of Florida.
