    Water

Water. We drink it. We use it to stay clean. To stay healthy. To cook dinner. To make crops grow and our landscaping lush. We use it to manufacture things and we even play in it. Turn on the faucet and there it is...fresh, clean water. Our lives depend on it!

We want and need a clean and ample supply of water all the time. Water is an important resource that is needed to sustain life. As human beings clean water is vital for our health and well-being and is required by us virtually every day. Because of the importance of clean water to our health, the environment, and even our economy, Miami-Dade County Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) is working diligently to protect and manage our water resources as efficiently as possible.

As we continue to live on earth we must all work together to protect this vital resource for ourselves and future generations. DERM contributes to many phases of the effort to protect and manage our water resources. This includes protecting ground water, monitoring water supplies, planning to handle storm water, and even overseeing proper handling of wastewater.
