Commissioner Jean Monestime joined other community leaders and residents to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day during the 35th Annual MLK Parade on Monday, January 16, 2012. Commissioner Monestime participated in the event, riding along NW 54th Street atop a fire truck. The parade ended at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, where residents enjoyed food and entertainment.

“Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  dared to dream during a dark time in America’s history. His message of unity has provided inspiration and hope for Americans to embrace their differences,” said Commissioner Monestime.
