Welcome to District 3
Greetings and welcome to the District 3 website. I am honored to have been elected as your commissioner, representing the diverse communities of the City of Miami - including Liberty City, Little Haiti, Overtown, the Upper East Side, Allapattah, Brownsville, Wynwood, and Spring Gardens - as well as the Village of El Portal, Miami Shores Village, and parts of the City of North Miami.

Mom & Pop application process closed
The application process for the District 3 Mom & Pop Small Business Grant Program is now complete. For those who have completed applications, please be sure to turn them in to the commissioner's office between January 24 to January 27, 2012 by 5 p.m. Call 305-636-2331 for more information.
New to District 3? Meet your commissioner!
On December 19, 2011, the Miami-Dade Commission adopted new County Commission election districts, which are already in effect. In an effort to reach out to new constituents, Vice Chairwoman Edmonson is hosting a series of "Meet & Greet" events throughout the community. Both new and current constituents of Miami-Dade’s District 3 are encouraged to meet the commissioner during the month of February.

Vice Chairwoman Edmonson seeks further study into disparity of black, Hispanic and women-owned business participation in County contracting
Since requesting a report more than five months ago from the Mayor and his administration, Vice Chairwoman Audrey Edmonson and the Board of County Commissioners finally received a memorandum confirming the need of a formal disparity study of Black, Hispanic and Women-Owned Business participation in County Contracting.
Vice Chairwoman Edmonson visits Florida Senate to advocate for better regulation of recycling illegally-obtained copper
In late January, Vice Chairwoman Edmonson spoke in front of the Community Affairs Committee of the Florida Senate in support of a bill which creates additional restrictions on regulated metal transactions, making it more difficult for secondary metals recyclers to purchase regulated metals, including copper, which may have been obtained illegally.
