Road Way Projects

SW 72nd Avenue from SW 40th Street to SW 20th Street
Public Works Project No. 20070645

The Roadway Improvements include, but are not limited to milling and resurfacing, remedial drainage, curb and gutters, sidewalk replacements, reconstruct concrete median, landscaping, paving markings, signage and traffic signal installations and modifications. The project is in the phase of location underground utilities and surveyors lay-out. No lane is closed to traffic. The construct project began on February 17, 2009 and is anticipated to be completed by February 2010. Construction activity is normally Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. No mainline road closing foreseen, therefore no alternate route is necessary.

The work consists of milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, sidewalks, curb and gutter, curb ramps with detectable warning surface, pavement markings, traffic signal and cleaning the existing drainage structure.

Mainline Closures

Construction began on September 15, 2008 and is anticipated to be completed by April 1, 2009. Working hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Night work when required from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am. During lane closures one lane of traffic will remains open at all time.

Detours

Motorists are advised to follow posted maintenance of traffic (MOT) or detour signs.
