Welcome to the District 8 website! I am honored to serve as your representative. District 8 encompasses Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay, Cutler Bay, Homestead, and unincorporated areas of South Dade.

Mom & Pop application process closed

The application distribution process for the District 8 Mom & Pop Small Business Grant Program is now closed. For those who have completed applications, please be sure to turn them in to the commissioner's office between February 1 to February 7, 2012 by 5 p.m. Call 305-378-6677 for more information.

Commissioner Bell becomes County Trash Truck Trainee as part of monthly "Work Days" Program

As part of her highly successful monthly program, designed to obtain a hands-on appreciation of the everyday pressures and challenges that local private and public sector institutions face on a daily basis, Commissioner Bell became a member of the County's Public Works and Solid Waste Department as a Trash Truck Trainee on Wednesday, January 18, 2012.

Hundreds of residents attend Commissioner Bell's State of the District Address

Commissioner Bell delivered her first State of the District Address joined by over 400 residents, elected officials, business leaders, and community activists at the magnificent South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center on Thursday, January 12, 2012.

Commissioner Bell restores County services to South Dade residents

Commissioner Lynda Bell officially opened the new 3-1-1 Service Center located within the South Miami-Dade Government Center complex (10710 S.W. 211 Street, Suite 204, Cutler Bay, Florida) on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 9:00 am. The 3-1-1 Service Center will be one of three similar facilities located throughout the county which are designed to provide residents with a convenient way to access County services and information at nearby locations.

The District 8 office has moved!

Last year, Commissioner Bell promised the residents of District 8 that if elected, she would stay as close and accessible as possible to her constituents.  Commissioner Bell's new District Office is located at the heart of Commission District 8 which encompasses a significant portion of southeastern Miami-Dade County, including the municipalities of Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay, Cutler Bay and Homestead, with portions of Kendall, The Falls and the Redlands.

Newly Redesigned Grant Opportunities Portal Launched

The Office of Grants Coordination has a redesigned site that includes new features to search for grant opportunities. Search a database, sign up for weekly e-newsletters and stay in tune with the most current funding opportunities available. The new site is designed to meet the needs of local non-profits, small businesses and more.
