Commissioner Souto proposes ordinance banning camping at bus shelters and benches

Commissioner Souto has proposed a new ordinance prohibiting camping and laying across bus passenger benches or within bus shelters serving Miami-Dade Transit.

Miami-Dade officials unveil "Veterans Way"

Commissioners Javier D. Souto, District 10 and Jose “Pepe” Diaz, District 12, and the Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department dedicate Veterans Way on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Tropical Park.  This connects visitors to the park’s existing Veterans Memorial honoring veterans of the United States Armed Forces for their service during time of war.

Mom & Pop application process closed

The application distribution process for the District 10 Mom & Pop Small Business Grant Program is now closed. For those who have completed applications, please be sure to turn them in to the commissioner's office between January 31 and February 3, 2012 by 5 p.m. Call 305-222-2116 for more information.

Commissioner Souto announces the approval to change the County's Code of Ethics

The Board of County Commissioners adopted an ordinance by Commissioner Javier D. Souto which amends the County's Code of Ethics to require that the Mayor and every County Commissioner receive a copy of the latest version of Miami-Dade County's Code of Ethics prior to his or her swearing in ceremony.
