(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- With school around the corner, Commissioner Jose "Pepe" Diaz hosted a free immunization event in his district at the Fire Fighters Memorial Building in Doral on Thursday, August 18, 2011. Children ages 2 months to 18 years were able to receive the necessary vaccinations recommended once the school year begins. Immunizations were administered by healthcare professionals from the Miami-Dade County Health Department.
"I'm glad families took advantage of this opportunity, especially in light of news reports that a considerable number of Miami-Dade kindergarteners are behind on their vaccines," said Commissioner Diaz.
