Miami-Dade County Department of Procurement Management Receives the Prestigious Achievement of Excellence Award from the National Purchasing Institute


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 
 

Miami-Dade County's Department of Procurement Management (DPM) has been awarded the prestigious 14th Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award from the National Purchasing Institute (NPI).  This is the seventh year that DPM has been honored by NPI, a leadership alliance of the most important professional purchasing organizations in the country.  The award recognizes innovation, professionalism, productivity, and leadership in the field of procurement.


"This is a significant honor that recognizes the professional work of our DPM staff, the executive support of the Mayor and County Manager, and the support of our Board of County Commissioners," said Miriam Singer, Director of the Department of Procurement Management. "This award affirms our commitment to continued innovation in the management of the County's procurement department in accordance with best practices in the purchasing profession."


Miami-Dade County has over 30,000 employees serving 2.3 million residents.  DPM procures goods and services valued in excess of $1.4 billion annually to support countywide operations. The Department manages vendor relations for over 17,000 vendors.  DPM manages in excess of 1400 active contracts valued at approximately $5.4 billion.
