Architectural Design and Review Advisory Committee (ADRAC)
Purpose
The purpose of the Architectural Design and Review Advisory Committee (ADRAC) is to provide dialogue and guidance regarding enhanced architectural designs for Housing Finance Authority (HFA) funded low-, moderate- and middle-income housing developments. ADRAC members review developers’ construction plans to ascertain the degree to which developers have incorporated high quality standards into their proposed projects. ADRAC's review requires a "passing grade" of 80% or better in order for projects to receive a positive recommendation to the HFA Board for further approval and ultimately for funding.
Currently, ADRAC has established a monitoring system to ensure that quality control continues throughout all phases of project development. This system will ensure that projects, which receive ADRAC's approval and have moved into the funding phase, maintain and implement features that were imperative to the committee's approval. The ADRAC's mission is to increase the aesthetic quality and livability of affordable housing, which is financed by the HFA.
History
On April 19, 1998, the Housing Finance Authority of Miami-Dade County created the Architectural Design and Review Advisory Committee, a standing committee of community volunteers with professional architectural credentials and expertise, to review proposals for multi-family project developments. The Board of the Housing Finance Authority appoints Architectural Design and Review Advisory Committee members.
