You Can Help End Homelessness

Join us in ending homelessness in Miami-Dade County! You can change the lives of people experiencing homelessness by giving them a Homeless Trust Helpline Card. If you see someone who is or appears to be homeless, give them a card and ask them to call the Homeless Helpline at 1-877-994-HELP to help them access a wide array of housing and services, designed to help families and individuals get off the streets, and/or prevent homelessness, and get on the road to a better life.

Please download and print your own Homeless Helpline cards.

Did you know that Miami-Dade County residents give millions of dollars to panhandlers each year? The fact is that not all who panhandle are homeless. Even if they are homeless, giving them money is not an effective means to help them. That's why we are deploying our Romero-Britto designed meters throughout Miami-Dade County. They are a safe, reliable and fully accountable means for you to help people who are homeless because 100% of the money collected in these meters is used directly to fund additional shelter beds, and expand the number of indoor meal programs for people experiencing homelessness. When you see one of our homeless donation meters, please consider giving your change to change a life.

For a map and a complete list of meter and Super Meter locations, please click here. You can also sponsor a meter by calling 305-375-1490 or by completing a sponsorship form below. Please mail the completed sponsorship form to the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust at:

How Are We Ending Homelessness?

The documents linked below exhibit important homeless initiatives in our mission to End Homelessness as well as our current and historic census data demonstrating our progress in carrying out our mission.

Innovation in progress

Homestead Airbase Conceptual designThanks to Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust obtained permission to utilize 52 acres of undeveloped property to serve as a unique project serving homeless families. The project shall consist of 145 units of permanent supported housing (housing with services) for homeless/formerly homeless families. It will feature a landscape/produce nursery and a fresh market retail complex, which will serve as a micro-enterprise for the formerly homeless residents.
