Miami-Dade Public Housing Agency (MDPHA) hereby advertises its proposed PHA Plan for Fiscal Year 2010-2011, which will be available for review during a 45-day comment period from 3/1/2010 through 4/14/2010. A public hearing will be held at the Housing and Community Development Committee meeting on 5/12/2010, at 9:30 a.m., at the Commissioner's Chamber, 111 N.W. 1 St. Miami, Florida 33128.

The Miami-Dade Public Housing Agency (MDPHA) is seeking applications from qualified developers and affordable housing operators to develop housing units for low-income families under the Section 8 Project Based Voucher Program (PBV) Program in a Target Area (TA) bounded by NW 7th Ave, NW 119th Street, NW 32nd Avenue and NW 36th Street, Miami, Florida. Applications are due no later than March 5 at: 2 p.m.

If you were an owner of a residential property in Miami-Dade County and entered into a Section 8 lease with a low-income tenant and also a Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) contract with the Miami-Dade Public Housing Agency from April 29, 2000 to the present, you may be entitled to funds from a Settlement Agreement from RGN Properties, Inc. and Miami-Dade County.

The Florida Discount Drug Card Program is designed to lower the cost of prescriptions for Florida residents who have no drug insurance coverage. You may qualify if you are age 60 and older or if you are under age 60 with a total family income under 300 percent of the federal poverty level. • The Link-Up and Lifeline Florida Assistance Programs are designed to ensure that all residents of Florida have affordable access to telephone service and connections in their homes. Customers of participating telecommunications providers can now apply online using the Public Service Commission Secure On-line Application Form.
• Miami-Dade County Community Action Agency's Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is currently assisting income eligible residents with payment of their gas and/or electric bill.  Applications for LIHEAP will be available beginning Monday, February 9, 2009 at CAA Service Centers.
