    MDFR Training Center Grand Opening

    Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Training ComplexMiami-Dade Fire Rescue is opening its own state-of-the-art fire rescue training facility on Aug. 21. The complex, built on 11 acres of existing land directly south of the department's headquarters building, will provide a myriad of training opportunities for MDFR personnel as well as public safety personnel from across the region, the nation, and the globe.

    MDFR firefighters respond to Miami-Dade County's airports day and night

    MDFR Airport Fire Rescue Divion The Airport Fire Rescue Division provides and coordinates all Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting protection at all Greater Miami-Dade County airports, including Miami International Airport and Opa-Locka Executive Airport. The division also is responsible for medical emergencies, fuel spills, terrorism, hazardous materials, biochemical threats, radiological exposures and natural disasters.

    Assistant Chief is Named One of the World's Most Influential People in 2010Time Magazine has named Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Karls Paul-Noel as one of the World's Most Influential People in 2010. Chief Paul-Noel was recognized as one of the heroes of the year for his efforts in Haiti after the devastating earthquake in January.
