MDFR’s ALS team extends winning streak in 2010

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue's (MDFR) Advanced Life Support Team participated in the Advanced Life Support Competition at the Fire-Rescue East Conference in Daytona Beach in January. The team came in second place.

MDFR's ALS Team, which consists of Captain Eddy Trapero, Firefighter Alex Lozano, Firefighter Bernardo Bernardo, and Firefighter Michael Ung, competed against 22 other fire-rescue teams from around the state. During the competition, teams were faced with extreme scenarios they are likely to encounter in real life.

The Advanced Life Support Competition is held annually at the Fire Rescue-East Conference hosted by the Florida Fire Chiefs Association (FFCA). The FFCA advances the profession of fire and emergency services through proactive leadership, education, and advocacy.
