| The Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee, or
CTAC, is comprised of private citizens who have been appointed
by the MPO Governing Board, two per board
member, to ensure that proposed transportation projects are
responsive to the community's perceived needs and goals. The
CTAC evaluates the recommendations generated during the
development of the MPO's Transportation Plan,
and serves as a public forum to raise issues pertinent to the
process. The CTAC also has subcommittees to deal with specific
aspects of transportation planning.
Committee appointments from the general public, are made at
the Board's discretion and may be based on the county manager's
recommendations. Members are appointed from the general public,
either by geographic area or because of a special interest in
improving transportation in Miami-Dade County.
In the case of county commissioners, at least one of their
two appointments must reside within their district. Meetings are
held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 5:30 PM and are
open to the public.
