| The Freight Transportation Advisory Committee, or FTAC,
is the industry’s advisory panel to the MPO that advises the
MPO Board on freight movement
and truck traffic needs.
Until
recently, freight transportation issues had not been formally and
systematically addressed by most MPOs to consider roadway improvements
that must be made for safety and freight efficiency.
The role of freight, especially trucks, still remains absolutely
essential for getting the goods from the producer to the distributor
and finally to retail centers and consumers.
The FTAC is actively pursuing candidates from the industry in
freight, logistics, shipping, trucking, warehousing, and intermodal
areas for membership appointments by
MPO Governing Board members.
Become a volunteer member of the Freight Transportation Advisory
Committee by e-mailing Larry
Foutz, FTAC Coordinator and Transportation Systems Manager,
or by calling him at 305.375.1522.
If you are a member of the freight industry, or are interested
in improving freight movement, we welcome you to submit your name
for nomination to our committee.
