FREE Salsa Concert by Edwin Bonilla at Tropical Park, sponsored by TARGET
Treat the family to a free salsa dance party led by Puerto Rican percussionist Edwin Bonilla on Friday, February 10th at Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40 St., Miami. This is the third live show of the Noches Tropicales Free Concert Series presented by Miami-Dade County Parks and sponsored by Target. Showtime is 8:00 p.m. Admission and parking are free. Concert goers are encouraged to bring along a blanket and chairs to better enjoy the festivities.
Valentine’s Day Concert & SoBay Festival of the Arts
Celebrate Valentine's Day at a romantic, outdoor concert under the stars on the edge of Biscayne Bay! The concert at the Deering Estate at Cutler will feature Sarah Packiam and Scott Kirby. The Valentine's Concert kicks-off the annual SoBay Festival of the Arts, a two-week celebration of literary, visual and performance art at the Deering Estate at Cutler.

The US Coast Guard's 7th District Auxiliary
The US Coast Guard's 7th District Auxiliary offers boating safety courses to civilians throughout the year starting in March. Courses include: Navigation, GPS and "On the Water Training", where you actually go out on a Coast Guard Auxiliary boat and train with certified members.
24th Annual In the Company of Women Awards, March 21st
March is Women's History Month! Join the celebration on March 21st at the Coral Gables Biltmore Hotel, as Miami-Dade County's inspirational women leaders are honored at the 24th annual In the Company of Women Awards. The event takes place from 6-9 p.m. and includes an awards presentation and cocktail reception.
Miami-Dade Parks A Gold Medal Finalist in 2011
The American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration (AAPRA), in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), selected the Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department as a finalist for the 2011 National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management for the third consecutive year. The Department also won the National Gold Medal Award three previous times, in 1979, 1987 and 1993.
Heads Up: Concussion in youth sports
To help ensure the health and safety of young athletes, CDC developed the Heads Up: Concussion in Youth Sports initiative to offer information about concussions to coaches, parents, and athletes involved in youth sports.
The Heads Up initiative provides important information on preventing, recognizing, and responding to a concussion. It's Better to Miss One Game Than the Whole Season!
