Miami-Dade County's Fruit & Spice Park has educational opportunities for the "Naturalist" at heart. The following is a list of tours and workshops that will be offered in July:

Water Gardening & Fish Ponds
This workshop covers pond design, construction, operation, landscaping, and aquatic animals. Visit the Fruit & Spice Park Lake and gardens.
Instructor: Chris Rollins. Cost is $25.
Saturday, July 24, 2010, All Day
Garden tour to Incredible Acres and Excalibur Nursery
Visit Incredible Acres and stroll through a dense jungle of dazzling rare tropical plants followed by a tour through Excalibur Nursery and its unique collection of rare fruit plants from around the world. Guide: Chris Rollins. Cost is $40

Banana Workshop
Learn from the "Banana Man" himself, Don Chafin, as he shows you how to grow and make your banana plants thrive. Many banana varieties will be discussed, and participants will get to dig plants to take home from the Fruit & Spice Park collection.
Instructor: Don Chafin. Cost is $25.

The Fruit & Spice Park, operated by the Miami-Dade County Park and Recreation Department, grows more than 500 varieties of sub-tropical fruits, herbs, spices, vegetables, and nuts from around the world on 40 lush acres in the agricultural Redlands.
