Public Works Mission Statement

The mission of the Public Works Department is to provide quality, efficient services that meet and support the infrastructure demands of Miami-Dade County, and enhance the quality of life for our residents, businesses and visitors through the construction, operation and maintenance of a safe, effective and aesthetic physical environment.

We will accomplish this mission through the following core services:

1. Providing and maintaining an efficient system of roads, bridges and pathways made safe and easily accessible by appropriate traffic control devices.
2. Chemical and mechanical maintenance of the County's existing system of secondary canals and other drainage facilities.
3. Providing effective, safe and environmentally sensitive mosquito control services.
4. Maintenance of the County's landscaped medians and public rights-of-way.
5. Effective toll collection administration.
