Metromover Opening Late For Maintenance Work

Free Bus Shuttle Service will be provided between Metromover stations

MIAMI (January 14, 2016)

In order to do scheduled maintenance work, Metromover will open at 12 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016.

Free bus-shuttle service will be provided between all Metromover stations, from 5 a.m.  until noon on Sunday. Buses are scheduled to arrive at approximately every 10 to 15 minutes.

A map of where shuttle buses will pick up and drop off patrons is available at MDT’s Metromover web page.

Miami-Dade Transit apologizes for the inconvenience; however, in order to continue its accelerated effort to improve reliability on the Metromover system, Miami-Dade Transit sometimes conducts work that involves the temporary closing of the Metromover system and replaces trains with free shuttle buses. This allows MDT to complete its work faster and safer, while minimizing impact to users during peak-service hours.

For general transit information, the public can download the free Miami-Dade Transit Tracker app, or visit MDT's mobile services.  Riders also can register to receive Rider Alerts. Likewise, transit information is available via Facebook and Twitter .

In addition, Miami-Dade Transit’s home page provides complete schedule information, station maps and more. Transit users also can call 305-891-3131, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
