Metrobus routes detoured during Heat Shield drill

MIAMI (February 05, 2016)

On Saturday, February 6, 2016, Miami-Dade Police Department will host “Heat Shield” Active Shooter Drill in Downtown Miami. Several law-enforcement agencies will participate, including the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Homeland Security, Special Weapons and Tactics Team and various municipal police departments.
 
During this time, several Metrobus routes will be detoured. The drill is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and starts at the Miami-Dade Children’s Courthouse; moves to the Stephen P. Clark Center and then to other locations throughout the County.

From approximately 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Metrobus routes 2, 3, 7, 9, 11, 21, 77, 207 and 208 will be detoured. Details about the detours can be found in the ‘Service Updates’ page of Miami-Dade Transit’s website, and its mobile site.

Metrorail and Metromover service at the Government Center stations is not expected to be affected by the drill.
