Miami-Dade's Department of Transportation and Public Works offers free parking and an early start for the Miami Marathon
There’s no need to sprint to your car in order to get to the 2017 Miami Marathon on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, because Miami-Dade Transit has got you covered.
The Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) is celebrating the annual event that draws thousands to downtown Miami by offering free parking all day long, and starting services one hour earlier.
Runners and spectators who park at any of the Metrorail garages or surface lots will receive complimentary parking for the duration of the day on Sunday.
Metrorail trains will depart the southernmost station, Dadeland South, and the northernmost station, Palmetto, starting at 4 a.m. for the Miami Marathon. Riders are encouraged to transfer to the Metromover (it’s free) at the Government Center stop to get the best access to the race.
For the Start line, get off at the Freedom Tower or College/Bayside Stations. For the finish line, the Bayfront Park or College/Bayside Stations are your stops.
Don’t forget to download the Miami-Dade Transit Tracker app by visiting www.miamidade.gov/transit/transit-tracker-app and plan your trip or track your ride in real-time. The new EASY Pay Miami app, also from Miami-Dade Transit, allows riders to purchase their fare from the palm of their hands. Buy your one-day pass ($5.65) with EASY Pay and head to the Marathon seamlessly. Visit www.miamidade.gov/transit/easy-pay for more information.
EASY Cards are still accepted at the Metrorail fare gates for your convenience.
EASY Tickets can also be conveniently purchased at the Miami-Dade Transit booth inside the Health & Fitness Expo that will take place January 27-28, 2017 at their new location inside Marlins Park (501 Marlins Way).
We’re with you every stop of the way.
