(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Those participating in "Las Damas de Blanco" support march on Calle Ocho today are encouraged to take transit to avoid traffic congestion and limited parking in Little Havana.
- Metrobus routes 8, 27 and the Little Havana Connection (207/208) are the routes that travel the closest to the march that will take place on Calle Ocho (SW 8th Street) between 22nd and 27th avenues beginning at 6 p.m.
- North Miami-Dade residents can take Metrorail to the Government Center Station and transfer to the Little Havana Connection (207/208) and exit at SW 6th Street and 27th Avenue. On the return trip, passengers will be picked up at SW 8th Street and 17th Avenue.
- South Miami-Dade residents can take Metrorail to the Coconut Grove Station and transfer to Route 27 headed northbound. On the way back, passengers can take Route 208 (Little Havana Connection) or Route 8 on SW 8th Street and 17th Avenue back to Metrorail.
- Due to road closures starting at 2 p.m., routes 8, 22, and the Little Havana Connection (208 only) will be detoured.
Metrobus and Metrorail fares are $2 each way. Transfers from Metrorail to Metrobus, or vice versa, are only 50 cents when using an EASY Card or EASY Ticket. The best way to pay the fare is by purchasing a 1-Day Pass for $5. Golden Passport and Patriot Passport users ride free. For this event, parking at Metrorail stations will be free from 4 p.m. until closing.
