NW 7th Avenue Transit Village Project
The 7th Avenue Transit Village is a mixed-use development project located in the heart of Liberty City, one of Miami-Dade’s oldest and most celebrated communities.
This multi-modal hub will provide economic growth and community redevelopment opportunities for in District 3. Miami-Dade Transit’s NW 7th Avenue Transit Village, located on the southeast corner of 7th Avenue and 62nd Street, will to ultimately enhance current transportation services, revitalize the area and provide immediate access to I-95.

The building of the NW 7th Avenue Transit Village has officially begun!
On Wednesday, October 24th, District 3 Commissioner Audrey Edmonson was joined by Carlisle, Miami-Dade Transit and members of her own staff as she manned a crane and provided the initial swing of the wrecking ball marking the beginning of construction.
The entire block, located in the heart of Liberty City, will soon become the NW 7th Avenue Transit Village and house 140 apartment units for seniors, a business/commercial area and a transit hub.
With a price tag of about $34 million, the NW 7th Avenue Transit Village will include many of the existing area businesses, in addition to the Carver Playhouse Theatre, a local historic presence.
The entire project, which is being constructed by Carlisle on property owned by Miami-Dade Transit, will consist of two phases and is expected to be completed by fall 2015. In addition to revitalizing the Liberty City area, this project will create 300 jobs while in the construction phase, 50% of which will be granted to residents of the community.
